Pilates is a movement style exercise concentrating on balance, breath, core, posture,
strength and flow. We take our time in the class, and work at our own level concentrating on improving posture to reduce pain, increase flexibility and creating gentle flowing movements. The classes have been designed to include meditation and relaxation as I feel this is vital in our busy lives. The meditation and relaxation element is an important part of the class and you will be taken through guided meditations focussing on nurturing and kindness. The classes are aimed at beginner to intermediate level and will be gentle and flowing, concentrating on breath and posture.
Pilates mats, straps and blocks are provided, but please feel free to bring your own mat to put on top for extra cushioning. Please also bring a bottle of water with you.
Please wear loose fitting clothes that allow you to stretch and move around freely.

There is a large free car park very close by.
During the class we will be getting on and off of Pilates mats and there will be moving around, within your capabilities. If you are worried about your mobility, do get in touch with Janine when you book so plans can be made to adapt any movements to ensure you are fully included in the class.
If you have concerns about your health and that your condition could be worsened by physical activity, it is essential that you check with your GP before booking and receive consent from them. It is also vital that you complete this health form prior to coming to a class.
Unfortunately this class isn’t suitable if you are pregnant, but providing you are in good health 6 – 12 weeks post partum, you should be able to start gently. However, again, please check with your GP prior to booking.
